Blaise Primary and Nursery School

E-Safety

At Blaise Primary and Nursery School, we strive to ensure that all our learners are confident and competent in using technology, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to keep themselves safe in the digital world. As technology increasingly becomes an integral part of our everyday lives, it is paramount that we foster an engaging approach to safeguard our children, their families, and the wider school community within the online environment, whilst simultaneously enriching their cultural capital and overall experience.

Ensuring the safety of our children is a collective responsibility that encompasses all members of our school community, including children, parents, carers, and staff. It is essential that we all remain informed about online safety rules and expectations, as every interaction we have online can have implications for our well-being and security.

Children at Blaise use the internet on a regular basis as part of their learning. To reinforce the importance of internet safety, we conduct online safety lessons that empower our pupils to understand and practice safe online behaviours. These lessons serve not only to educate but also to create a dialogue among students about the experiences they encounter on digital platforms.

Our staff members are dedicated to maintaining a safe online environment. Therefore, they participate in regular training to stay abreast of current online safety policies and practices. This ongoing professional development ensures that our educators are well-equipped to guide students in navigating the complexities of the digital age, while fostering a culture of vigilance and awareness throughout the school community. Together, we can uphold our commitment to online safety and nurture a secure, supportive environment for all.

Online bullying or other online concerns should be shared with an adult they trust and staff at Blaise. It is also important that children are made aware of Childline, if they would like to speak to someone about how they are feeling.

To report and remove harmful online content, you should contact the UK Safer Internet Centre.

We encourage our community to think SMART when it comes to the online world.
